Anatomy of the mind-Yoga sutras, History of Yoga-evolution to modern times. Bones, Joints, Anatomical Markers, “why” rather than “how”.
Anatomy of the breath and the relation to Stress Response, Understanding movement Directions of movement, Anatomy of spine, shoulders
Anatomy of the hips, legs feet, ankles. Reading the body in movement.. Muscle action-creating foundational understanding of movement.
Functional understanding of movement in body systems
Practicum/student teaching included each week

UNIT B: ASANA-ALIGNMENT-AWARENESS THROUGH MOVEMENT
Developing Balance, nervous system and Breath.
Pranayama practices to strengthen asana
Yoga philosophy in the modern world
Forward Folding and Bending Back-creating movement patterns that are sustainable and strengthening
Twist, side bends and inversions to embrace the feminine face of yoga
Unit B Dates: November 22-24, December 6-8, January 10-12, 2020
UNIT C: SEQUENCING- SUBTLE BODY-TEACHING TECHNIQUES, ETHICS
Sequencing-the art and science of putting it all together. Weaving the gunas into your practice.
Energies of the subtle body-chakras, koshas, nidras and mantras
Meditation to access the deeper self, mindfulness in everyday life
Ethics of teaching, challenges and communication skills to create inspiration
Unit C Dates: January 24-26, February 7-9, February 21-23 2020
Friday 5-9 p.m.
Saturday 11:30-7 p.m.
Sunday 8:30-4:00 p.m. (includes free 8:30 class on Sundays)
$2500 if paid in full prior to first module.
$2700 if using Installment Plan; $900 with application. Installment payments of $900 due one week prior to each module start date.

Cancellation Policy: Deposits are fully refundable up to 4 weeks prior to the beginning of module start date.
Karen Quinn, ERYT500, Certified Yoga Therapist, Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner is the lead instructor for this training. She brings 18 years and over 15,000 hours of teaching experience to create trainings rich in anatomy, alignment and ahimsa. Her emphasis is on sharing the many tools of yoga therapy that allows students to discover the wonder and ease of this ancient practice.
In addition, we have assembled an incredible group of instructors with years of hands on experience to share their knowledge and expertise so that you can share with others the many gifts of yoga.
Topics covered in the 200 hours course meet or exceed the required standards of the Yoga Alliance.
